Teen Volunteering

Volunteer opportunities at Alamosa Public Library: "Oceans of Possibilities" with an illustration of a person in a canoe.

Alamosa Public Library needs help with our annual Summer Reading Program!  It’s easy and it’s fun!

We need volunteers to:

  • Prep registration packets and other materials
  • Help set up for weekly events
  • Promote the program in the community
  • Read to and play with children at events
  • Run our “Read for Beads” table
  • Break down shade tents and tables after each event
  • Be an awesome role model for young people

Summer Reading events are held every WEDNESDAY in June and July!  Volunteers are needed from 9:00 a.m. until Noon on these event days.

  • You do not have to be available every Wednesday in order to earn hours!  Other volunteer opportunities can be arranged at other times.

Volunteer hours will be calculated and verified by our Youth Services Librarian, Holly, for clubs, scholarships and applications.

Register online or in person at the library and Holly will contact you to schedule a time to meet.
