The Friends of the Alamosa Public Library, the Woman’s Citizenship Club and various individuals manage a network of 27 Little Free Libraries in Alamosa. See the map below for our Little Free Library locations.

The History of the Little Free Libraries in Alamosa & Mosca

2015 - Paul Wolfram, volunteer, eagerly built the first 5 Little Free Libraries for the Alamosa Public Library when the project was presented to our volunteers and Friends of the Library.

2016 - The Alamosa Public Library sponsored its own Little Free Library in Cole Park. There is an additional Little Free Library installed in Mosca.

2019 - The Alamosa Housing Authority installed 5 new chartered LFLs at their affordable housing units.

2020 - The Friends of the Library acquired the Book Bike, which became a fixture at First Fridays, Farmer's Markets, and other community events.

2020 - The Rio Grande Farm Park added 2 Little Free Libraries to their lot. Boyd Park got its own, as well as the Alamosa Community Greenhouse.

2024 - A new LFL location was added at the Alamosa Welcome Center, designed and painted by Judith Boyd.

2025 - A new LFL location was added at the new Alamosa Food Bank, bringing the total number of LFLs to 28.
