Movies at the Library

We have a 9 foot wide screen and a LCD projector that we use to project movies. We provide the popcorn, you bring a pop and a pillow and enjoy the Library in a different way twice a month..

"Fiber Floozies" Meet at the Library

All manner of fiber fanatics are welcome to join others who spin, crochet, knit, quilt, weave or any other form of fiber craft. We share companionship, expertise, inspiration and commiseration as needed. We meet at the Hospice del Valle, 514 Main Street 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. If you would like to learn one of these crafts come and join us. All members love to share their craft with others. No fees, no committees, no fuss....just bring along any fiber craft you are interested in and join others.

Blankets/Quilts Needed!

We have delivered 20 baby blankets and quilts for the S.A.N.E. Program (Sexual Abuse Nurse's Exam). These blankets are used to cover the child during the examination to bring them softness and comfort. The blanket goes home with them as our gift. The program needs about four blankets/quilts per month.

Caps for Newborns!

The public is invited to join the Library staff in this ongoing service project to crochet or knit caps to fit newborns (10-12" circumference).  We have free patterns available at the library as the nursery staff prefer ribbed/stockinette style caps. We need about 60 caps a month to meet the needs of the nursery. If you don't know how to knit or crochet read the above article on the Fiber Floozies, come to a meeting and we will teach you how to do it.
